With some key initiatives being implemented in 2019 and 2020, the Board is seeking a skilled Administration Officer to support these activities.

The Role: This casual/part-time role can be provided remotely, so the geographic location of candidates is not critical. However, Board Meetings are presently held in Brisbane, so SEQ candidates would be preferable. The role is responsible for providing a range of administrative support activities including:

  • Receiving and responding to email/website enquiries;
  • Membership database management;
  • Organising Board & sub-committee meetings, including Zoom bookings, preparation of agendas, Minutes, Action Lists and Board papers;
  • Preparing, processing, receiving and payment of invoices;
  • Preparation and management of the Stormwater Australia Linkedin page;
  • Preparation and circulation of monthly email communication to national membership;
  • Approximately 8 hours of book-keeping each month (MYOB or XERO experience desirable);

Is this you?

Previous experience working in an administrative role using the Microsoft Office suite (or Google suite) would be essential. An understanding of Board processes, Minute taking, and document preparation is important. Some experience with media marketing/communication & book-keeping would be preferable.

But most importantly, we are seeking someone who is;

  • Passionate about the environment, water quality, flood management and using (storm)water better than we currently do;
  • Able to prepare routine correspondence and Board papers quickly with excellent attention to detail;
  • Flexible (some weeks might be more than 8 hours!);
  • Able to work effectively as part of a small team, and responsible enough to complete work without day to day supervision.

Some after-hours work and/or travel may be required from time to time, but this will be negotiated well in advance.

The Board predicts that the role will expand in hours during 2020 and this will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
